New-Gen Hyundai i20 Spotted On The Road – Clearest Images
Hyundai has recently released the studio-shots and details of the upcoming new-gen Hyundai i20, which is scheduled to be launched in India in September-October 2020. Here are the clearest spy images that show the design of the new i20 hatchback. This is for the first time that the new Hyundai i20 has been spotted on the streets without camouflage.
The next-gen Hyundai i20 will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Tata Altroz and the Volkswagen Polo. The spotted model is the top-of-the-line variant, which has 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. It comes equipped with all LED headlamps, underbody spoiler at the front and shark fin antenna. It gets newly styled LED tail-lights, which are connected via a full-width reflector strip.
The new model gets dual-tone bumper, new tailgate mounted spoiler and fake rear diffuser. The rear design resembles the design of the Altroz premium hatchback. The side profile looks sporty, thanks to strong creases running across the length. It gets a large hexagonal front grille, sculpted bonnet, slightly tapered roof, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated blinkers and blackened pillars.
The new-gen Hyundai i20 is 5mm longer and 30mm wider, though the height has been reduced by 24mm. The new model rides on 10mm longer wheelbase, which should help Hyundai to liberate more space inside the cabin. The hatchback offers a luggage carrying capacity of 351-litres, which is 25-litres more than the outgoing hatch.
Inside the cabin, the 2020 Hyundai i20 receives segment-largest 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Navigation and voice recognition. Other features include 10.25-inch digital instrument console, Bose premium audio system with 8-speakers, LED ambient lighting, automatic AC, wireless charging, cruise control, multi-functional steering wheel, etc.
The next-gen Hyundai i20 hatchback will be offered with 3 engine options – a 99bhp, 1.5-litre diesel, a 83bhp, 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 118bhp, 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. The turbocharged petrol engine will also receive a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox option.
