The next-gen Hyundai Creta for India is expected to debut at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo.

The next-generation Hyundai Creta has been spotted testing for the first time on Korean roads. This model is called ix25 in the Chinese market and it will replace the current Hyundai Creta in India as well as other markets. The SUV was first debuted at the recently concluded Shanghai Auto Show 2019.

The spotted model in Korea looks like the mid-level variant as it comes devoid of sunroof and contrasting exterior paint scheme. The ix25 unveiled at the Auto Show was wrapped in dual-tone paint scheme. The new-gen Hyundai Creta comes with radical changes, featuring more rounded profile. It gets a big hexagonal cascading type front grille with chrome treatment, which looks similar to the one offered in the upcoming Hyundai Venue and the brand’s flagship Palisade SUV.

The new model comes with the brand’s new two-tier headlamp setup with sharp LED positioned on the top of the bumper and main headlight placed on lower side of the front bumper. The headlamp is a projector unit that also has LED daytime running lights. There is a faux skid plate on the lower bumper and separate fog lamps on each corner. The side profile of the new Hyundai Creta comes with flatter profile, featuring elegant lines. There is a strong line that runs from the rear fender to meet the rear door. The vehicle gets squared off wheel arches and plastic cladding all around the side. It also has faux aluminum trim below the doors. The SUV features diamond-cut alloy wheels, which looks similar to the one offered with the Venue compact SUV. The rear profile is also completely revised with a new tail-lamp setup. It gets a split tail-lights and a strip of LED lights positioned right between the two tail-lights.

The interior of the new Hyundai Creta is also completely new. It comes with much cleaner and clutter free cabin, which seems inspired by the Teslas. It gets a large touchscreen infotainment system that flows into the centre console. The cabin comes with no physical buttons, except for the start-stop system. This suggests that the functions like HVAC will be controlled via the touchscreen. The SUV comes fitted with a flat-bottom steering wheel with controls for audio and Bluetooth telephony, cruise control, paddle shifters, cooled seats, etc.

The next-gen Hyundai Creta for India is expected to debut at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. It will be powered by BSVI compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The SUV will also come in two seating layouts – 5 seat-and 7-seat. While the former will be launched in 2020, the 7-seater model will go on sale in 2021.
