New Ford Figo and Figo sedan (Ka & Ka+) world premiere on July 24

Ford Brazil will introduce the production version of the Ka twins (new Ford Figo and Figo sedan) on July 24 at HSBC Brazil, in Sao Paulo. The Ford Ka concept was unveiled last year in Brazil, while the sedan concept was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. Both models will also make its way to the Indian market by early next year.

The company has regularly been releasing the images of the production spec hatchback and sedan via its official social media pages. Recently, the company has now released the first interior image of the new generation Figo and Figo sedan (Ka & Ka+). Both the models are likely to go on sale in the Brasilian market in August or September.

The Ka twins will be the first cars in Brazil to feature the SYNC AppLink with connectivity system. The SYNC and AppLink system sports voice activated commands which alloy the occupant to dial and call, and change music system. The exteriors of the vehicles look identical to the concept unveiled; however, the company has slightly modified the aerodynamic curves and creases to make it road compatible. The vehicle is equipped with Aston Martin like grille flanked by sweptback headlamps which gives it a common family look. The hatchback model gets honeycomb grille instead of the horizontal chrome slat grille in the concept.

The Ford Ka and Ka+ will be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder non-turbocharged engine that produces 85bhp and 107Nm of torque. Its high-spec models will be propelled by the 1.5-litre engine that develops 111bhp. The models which comes to India will also feature the 1.4-litre Duratorq diesel engine.
