More details have been revealed about the new-generation Duster, which was recently unveiled by Dacia at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Duster will get two petrol and one diesel unit. Petrol options on the Dacia Duster will include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine with 114PS against 156Nm and a 1.6-litre unit good for 125PS and 205Nm torque. The 1.2-litre engine could come in LPG option with power figures tuned to 108PS and 144Nm torque. A five-speed manual unit will be offered with the 1.2-litre FWD variants, while the six-speed gearbox will come with the four-wheel drive variants offered on both the engines.
The diesel-powered Dacia Duster will derive power from the 1.5-litre oil burner with two tunes of power-90PS with 200Nm and 110PS with 260Nm. For transmitting power, the oil burner will make use of a six-speed manual unit on the 90PS version, whereas the 110PS unit will be paired to a 6-speed auto box supported by a four-wheel drivetrain. The start-stop technology and regenerative braking aiding improved mileage will be standard on all three engines. Other features that will be packed inside include an electric power steering, new MediaNav infotainment system with multi-view cameras that display all four corners of the SUV. Additionally, the new Duster will benefit from an automatic climate control unit, push-button start, tilt & telescopic steering wheel, height and lumbar support. While on the outside, expect the new Duster to come with 17-inch alloy wheels. The safety kit will include six-airbags, ABS, EBD, front & rear seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, auto headlamps, speed limiter and blind spot warning system. One must note that the details revealed above are for the Dacia Duster and the India-spec model is expected to get a different engine set-up. For the Indian market, Renault could use the 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre oil burner with a choice between a 6-speed manual unit, an AMT, a standard 5-speed manual and a CVT.As for the safety features on the India bound model, Renault could offer ABS and ISOFIX child seat anchorages as standard.
