New Creta to Brezza Facelift – 5 New SUVs Launching in 2 Months
At the 2020 Auto Expo, automakers showcased a wide range of new SUVs. These models will be launched in the market in the next couple of years. Here we bring you a list of 5 brand new SUVs that will be launched in the Indian market in the next couple of months –
New Hyundai Creta
The second generation Hyundai Creta will finally go on sale in the Indian market on March 17, 2020. It is based on the new front-wheel-drive monocoque platform, which also underpins the Kia Seltos. The new model comes with all-new exterior and interior along with the new set of engines. It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift
Maruti Suzuki will launch the facelifted Vitara Brezza SUV in March 2020. The new model has received subtle design changes in the form of revised grille, new front bumper and upgraded lighting. The biggest change has been made under the bonnet. It will receive a new BSVI compliant 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine producing 103bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic.
VW T-ROC
German SUV maker, Volkswagen will launch the T-ROC 5-seater SUV in the Indian market in April. Bookings of the SUV have already been started. It will be offered in a single, fully-loaded variant. Powering the T-ROC is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 150bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed DSG automatic.
Skoda Karoq
The long-awaited Skoda Karoq 5-seater premium SUV will finally go on sale in the Indian market in April 2020. The new model will be imported via CBU route. Likely to be priced around Rs 20 lakh, the new Karoq will challenge the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross. It is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 150bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed DSG automatic.
New Mahindra Thar
The much-awaited new generation Mahindra Thar will finally go on sale in the country in the next couple of months. The new model will be based on the GEN3 platform, which underpins the current Scorpio. It will be offered with 2 new engines – a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol. Adding to it, the new Thar will receive comprehensive changes inside the cabin.
