Maruti Suzuki is aiming to build inventory for the upcoming Ciaz facelift before launching it in the market by August 2018

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch a range of new cars and facelifted version of existing cars in the next few years. Media reports claim that the production of the sedan has already been commenced. The company is aiming to build inventory for this sedan before launching in the market. Previous reports claim that the launch of the upcoming Maruti Ciaz facelift could be launched in August 2018.

The majority of the changes have been given to the front fascia of the car. It features an all-new grille and revised headlamp unit with LED inserts. The front bumper has been revised and has now new fog lamp housings with chrome surrounds. The front design seems inspired from the new Ertiga, which was unveiled at the 2018 Indonesia Motor Show. The side profile of the sedan looks largely identical to the existing model, except for the revised 16-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the sedan gets revised bumper with re-profiled tail-lamps with LED elements. On the inside, the updated Ciaz could get new upholstery for seats and a lighter woodgrain shade. Majority of the changes will be made under the bonnet. The sedan will be powered by Suzuki’s new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine instead of the existing 1.4-litre K14 unit. This engine is capable of producing 104bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. This engine also powers the all-new Ertiga MPV, which will go on sale in India during festive season. Both manual and automatic versions could be on offer.

Reports also claim that the Ciaz facelift will receive a new 1.5-litre diesel engine. This engine will replace the 1.3-litre MJD unit. At the time of launch, the sedan is likely continue with the existing Fiat’s sourced engine.
