General Motors India today introduced the new Chevrolet Sail sedan and hatchback facelifts in the Indian car market. The updated Sail hatchback is priced in the range of Rs. 4.41 lakh to Rs. 6.81 lakh, while the Sail sedan facelift is tagged at Rs. 5.19 lakh for base variant and Rs. 7.64 lakh for top-spec model (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Speaking on the launch, Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director, General Motors India said, “The new SAIL hatchback and sedan reinforce GM’s commitment to provide offerings that offer value for money at the heart of the market. The SAIL family has gained a reputation for class-leading quality and spirited performance, while providing a spacious interior and sporty styling to meet the needs of our esteemed customers.”
Inside the cabin, the updated Sail twins gets dual tone beige interiors, better quality materials, chrome treatment for air conditioning vents and gear lever, new upholstery and added features. Both cars feature Icy Blue Illumination in Audio and instrument cluster, Bluetooth enabled 2-DIN audio system, backlit power window switches and Golden Bowtie on Steering wheel.
The exteriors of the new Chevrolet Sail hatchback and sedan gets a newly styled alloy wheels, chrome garnish around fog lamps, and blacked out B-pillar. It is offered in six exterior shades: Velvet Red (Sedan), Super Red (Hatchback), Summit white, Switchable Silver, Linen Beige, Caviar Black and Sandrift Grey.
Under the bonnet is the same 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. Its oil burner is the same 1.3-litre TCDI motor that develops that produces 77bhp and 205Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The diesel engine is claimed to return an impressive mileage of 22.1kmpl.
