Here we bring you a list of new cars and SUVs that will go on sale in the country during Diwali 2018.

In order to improve sales, automakers had launched a range of new cars in the Indian market this year. While Ford had launched the new Freestyle cross-hatch, Hyundai introduced the facelifted Creta and Elite i20. Maruti had launched the new generation Swift at the 2018 Delhi Auo Expo. Moreover, luxury car brands including BMW and Mercedes had introduced their luxury cars in the market. In near future, we will see entry of several new cars in the Indian market.

Here we bring you a list of new cars and SUVs that will go on sale in the country during Diwali 2018.

New Maruti Ertiga

After launching the new Swift and Dzire, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of new generation Ertiga. Suzuki has already unveiled the new model at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show. The new model is based on Suzuki’s new-generation HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Swift. It is longer, wider and taller than the previous model, which results into more space inside the cabin. The MPV will be powered by a newly developed 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 104bhp and 138Nm of torque. This model could also receive a newly developed 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a CVT unit.

Mahindra XUV700

The homegrown automaker, Mahindra will also launch its flagship SUV – codenamed Y400 – in India during Diwali season. Likely to be called Mahindra XUV700, the new SUV will take on the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour. It is basically a rebadged version of the global SsangYong Rexton G4. First unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, the new SUV has already been spotted multiple times on Indian roads. It will be powered by a new 2.2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 187bhp of power and 420Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic unit.

New Hyundai Santro

South Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch an all-new entry-level hatchback in the market this year. Likely to be called Santro, the new model will sit between Eon and Grand i10. It will rival the Tata Tiago, Maruti Celerio and others in its category. The small car will be powered by the 1.1-litre petrol engine. Moreover, it will be the first Hyundai car to offer AMT option.

– New Honda CR-V

Japanese automaker, Honda has recently launched the new-generation Amaze compact sedan. The company has confirmed that it will launch 2 new models – new CRV and Civic sedan – in the country before the end of this financial year. Out of these 2 models, the company will first launch the new CRV SUV. For the first time, the new CRV will be offered with a diesel engine. It will be powered by a newly developed 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine producing 118bhp and 320Nm of torque. Adding to it, the new CRV will be a 7-seater SUV.

Ford Aspire 2018

American automaker, Ford will launch the new Aspire facelift with comprehensive updates in India on October 4, 2018. The updated model will receive cosmetic exterior and interior changes. However, majority of the changes will be seen under the hood. It will get new front fascia, featuring new signature grille, revised headlamps and bumper. The side profile remains the same, except for the new set of alloys. Inside the cabin, the sedan gets a new touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features.

The new Aspire is equipped with a new 1.2-litre Dragon petrol engine that produces 96bhp of power and 120Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a new 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Diesel engine is the same 99bhp, 1.5-litre unit paired to a new 5-speed manual gearbox.
