New BSA Gold Star 650cc Retro Motorcycle Revealed – RE 650 Rival

Classic Legends has officially re-introduce the iconic British bike maker – BSA Motorcycles at a special event in the Birmingham in the UK. The company has showased the first model – the BSA Gold Star classic motorcycle. For people not in the know, the BSA Gold Star was originally sold between 1938 and 1963 and was offered with multiple engine options ranging from 350cc to 500cc.

The 2022 BSA Gold Star retains the classic design of the original model. However, the new bike is powered by a newly developed 650cc single-cylinder DOHC engine. The company hasn’t revealed the power output and other details of the new motorcycle.

The BSA Gold Star will make public debut on December 4, 2021 at the Motorcycle Live Show in the UK. The motorcycle has been designed and developed in the UK, and the production of the bike will also take place in UK. Anupam Thareja, co-founder, Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd said that “We’d spend hours in the end looking at the font, the size, the colour, the shape. How it looks in the day and the night. And all I can say is it went into a dizzy. But what came out of this harmonious chaos is this absolutely stunning, beautiful piece of artwork.”

Classic Legends will produce the BSA Gold Star in Birmingham, which is the brand’s original home, and a technical centre in Conventory has already been setup to develop motorcycles. The company is also working on electric motorcycles. In fact, UK government has granted 4.6 million pound to BSA for the development of zero-emission motorcycles.

BSA 650cc offering has also been spotted testing at Classic Legends’ plant in Pithampur. The company could also produce this motorcycle in India for export purpose. The new motorcycle will be positioned in the premium bike segment. Featuring Classic design, the new BSA Gold Star will come with modern underpinnings and newly developed 650cc engine.

The motorcycle gets traditional rounded headlamp with integrated LED DRLs, LED tail-light, wide set handlebars and tear drop shaped fuel tank. The motorcycle has broad fenders, and new spoked wheels wrapped in Pirelli tyres. Chrome treatment can be seen all around the body, on headlamp, fuel tank, engine casing and on the exhaust pipe. It gets a large single-piece seat with an upright riding position.
