New BMW X5 Expedition launched in India

New 2015 BMW X5 launching soon

BMW India has introduced a new trim of its recently launched 2014 X5 SUV. Christened as the BMW X5 Expedition, the SUV is considerably cheaper than the standard model; however, it lacks several features to achieve low price tag. The BMW X5 Expedition is priced at Rs. 64.9 lakh, which is Rs. 6 lakh cheaper than the BMW X5 Design Pure Experience trim priced at Rs. 70.9 lakh.

The BMW X5 Expedition is equipped with bi-xenon headlamps instead of adaptive LED units available in standard X5 series. It also lacks LED fog lamps. Its engine is paired to a standard Steptronic 8-speed unit instead of the Steptronic Sport version available in the higher end models. In place of 16-speaker Harman Kardon music system, this model features the music system is a 9-speaker unit. Moreover, the company has removed features like BMW Apps, the navigation system and hard drive function. The 16.5-cm display on offer; however, it misses out the DVD drive and handwriting recognition.

The exteriors of the BMW X5 Expedition also lacks several premium factors such as titanium moulding on bumpers and tailpipe. This model doesn’t get third-row seats, making it a five-seater. Adding to it, this model also lacks paddle shifters, launch control, electric seat lumbar support and few more.
