New BMW R 1250 R and R 1250 RT launched in India

British two-wheeler automaker, BMW Motorrad has launched 2 new motorcycles – the BMW R 1250 R and the BMW R 1250 RT in the Indian market. The new motorcycles will be available as completely built-up units and are available for bookings at BMW Motorrad dealerships. While the R 1250 R is priced at Rs 15.95 lakh, the BMW R 1250 RT is available at Rs 22.50 lakh (ex-showroom pan India).

The all-new BMW R 1250 R is available in a single Black Storm metallic paint, while the higher variant is available in option 719 Blueplanet metallic and Option 719 Sparkling Storm metallic colour scheme.

The all-new BMW R 125 R is a dynamic Naked bike that offers effortless riding pleasure. Front-wheel cover, front spoiler, tank side trim and rear side panels receive the subtle body finish. In Stylet Exclusive , the R 1250 R highlights the all-round qualities of a roadster for active riding. All trim panel components are painted in Pollux metallic Matt. The all-new BMW R 1250 RT comes with an exclusive touring character. It has chrome elements for handlebar weights and windshield trim. Both bikes get front spoiler, golden brake calipers, radiator cover and stainless steel tank cover.

Powering the bikes is a 1254cc, 2-cylinder on-line Boxer engine that is capable of producing 136bhp at 7,750rpm and a peak torque of 143Nm at 6,250rpm. The powertrain has newly designed cylinder head covers bearing the inscription ‘ShiftCam’ as well as the pipe ducting of the new exhaust manifold system. The variable camshaft control BMW ShiftCam is an entirely new technology which provides supreme rideability along with an additional increase in power across the entire engine speed range, reduced emission and fuel consumption levels, optimised running smoothness and refinement.

 Both bikes offer two riding models as standard. Some of the features include automatic stability control (ASC), ABS Pro, set-off assistant hill start control, dynamic ESA, cruise control, keyless ride, headlight PRO, DRL and chrome-plated exhaust pipe. The 1250 RT also gets seat heating, central locking system, tyre pressure control and anti-theft alarm system.
