The new-generation Bajaj Pulsar and Avenger range will meet upcoming safety and emission norms.

Bajaj Auto will give a generation change to its popular Pulsar motorcycle brand in the Indian market. Talking to Forbes India, Rajiv Bajaj, the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, has confirmed that the “a complete refresh and an all-new Pulsar” will hit roads in 2020. The new Bajaj Pulsar and Avenger range will be compliant to the upcoming emission and safety norms. First launched in 2001, the Bajaj Pulsar range was an instant hit. Now, the Pulsar brand has completed 17 successful years in the Indian market.

The new Bajaj Pulsar 2020 will get new 4-valve engine boosted with fuel injection technology. The new powertrains are likely to be more powerful, refined and efficient than the existing motors. Mr. Bajaj has also revealed that the 2020 Pulsar motorcycle series will range from 150cc to 220cc, and there won’t be any 125cc Pulsar motorcycle.

Reports suggest that the company will also update gearbox of the new Pulsar motorcycles. Besides mechanical upgrades, the new Bajaj Pulsar 2020 will see comprehensive cosmetic changes including LED headlamp, new tail section and swingram and a new pair of alloy wheels. With the arrival of the new Bajaj Pulsar 2020, the Pulsar 135 LS will be removed from the motorcycle lineup. Since the new Pulsar range will be upgraded to new emission and safety norms, it’s likely to witness a major price hike.
