Bajaj Auto has launched the all-new Pulsar N160 in the country at a price tag of Rs 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Bajaj Pulsar N160 is built on the new Pulsar platform that underpins the brand’s latest Pulsar 250. The new motorcycle comes with segment-first dual-channel ABS system, a fuel-efficient 165cc BS6 engine and LED projector headlamps.
In a press release, Bajaj claims that the new Pulsar N160 is conceptualised to “deliver power, precision, and control like never before in the segment”. The new motorcycle will target young riders who wants a sporty motorcycle that is also rideable in everyday street conditions.
The new Bajaj Pulsar N160 is powered by a 165cc, BSVI compliant engine that is capable of producing 16PS of power at 8,750rpm and 14.65Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. The company claims that 85% of peak torque is available throughout the rev band for improved pick-up. It is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine produces 1.2bhp less power than the Pulsar NS160’s 160cc, 4-valve engine.
The new Bajaj Pulsar N160 is built on a tubular frame chassis. It features an underbelly exhaust system, monoshock rear suspension, and LED projector headlamp. The LED projector headlamp is flanked by slim LED daytime running lamps on either side. The motorcycle’s fuel tank extensions, split seats, alloy wheels and tail-lights look identical to the one offered in the Pulsar N250.
The single-channel ABS version is offered in 3 colour options – Carribean Blue, Racing Red and Techno Grey. On the other side, the dual channel ABS version is offered in a single Brooklyn Black Shade.
The motorcycle comes with 300mm front disc and 230mm rear disc brake. The new Pulsar N160 rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 100/80 and 130/70 section tyres at the front and rear respectively.
The bike gets a USB charging port, a 14-litre fuel tank and a digital-analogue instrument cluster that shows multiple info like the gear position, clock, fuel economy and distance-to-empty.
