Bajaj Auto, the homegrown two-wheeler maker has launched the updated version of the Discover 125 in the country. The new model is priced at Rs 53,171. Adding to it, the company has also re-introduced the Discover 110cc model. The 2018 Bajaj Discover 125 will be an updated version of the current model. It will feature some cosmetic changes such as new paint jobs and new graphics.

The 2018 Bajaj Discover 125 also gets blackened treatment to cycle parts that give it a sportier look. Mechanically, the new model continues to feature a 124.6cc DTS-i, two-valve engine that is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Similar to the previous model, the new Discover 125 is available with two variants – Disc and Drum. While the former is priced Rs 55,954 , the Drum variant is tagged at Rs 53,171. Prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The previous model was priced at Rs 55,469 and Rs 53,491 for disc and drum variants, respectively.

The new Discover 125 is powered by the same single-cylinder, 124.6cc, 2-valve DTS-i engine with ExhauTEC. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 11bhp at 8,000rpm along with a peak torque of 11Nm at 5,500rpm. A five-speed gearbox driving the power to the rear wheel of the bike comes as standard. Based on the Semi-double cradle, the new motorcycle gets electric start system along with kick start. The new model comes with cosmetic upgrades, which means the overall fuel efficiency remains the same. Weighing just 120kgs, the new model returns a fuel efficiency of 82kmpl. It should return around 70kmpl in city.

2018 Bajaj Discover 125 Design

The overall design and profile of the new Discover 125 is largely similar to the existing model. However, it comes with subtle changes to keep things fresh in the market. The new model gets new body graphics and blackened treatment for cycle parts. The engine casing, lower portion of the front suspension, blacked-out chain cover and other parts are finished in black. It rides on blackened 17-inch alloy wheels that add to its sportier image. The alloy wheels are shod with 2.75 x 17-inch front tyre and 100/90-17 inch rear tyre. This new Discover is based on a Semi-double cradle that also underpins the Discover 110.

It comes equipped with LED daytime running headlamps, new age digital instrument console, premium dual-tone textured seats and textured tail-lamp bezel. The company has claimed that the new model comes with 16% longer suspensions, which ensures improved performance on bad roads.

Dimensions –

The Discover 125 measures 2,035mm in length, 760mm in width and 1,087mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,305mm. The bike comes with a seat height of 800mm, while the ground clearance stands at 165mm. It has a kerb weight of 120.5kg.

2018 Bajaj Discover Suspension and Braking

For suspension duties, the new model comes with telescopic front forks and twin Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. However, the suspensions come with 16% longer travel for improved performance on rugged Indian roads. The braking system of bike comprises of 200mm disc upfront and 130mm rear drum.
