Honda Cars India Ltd. has commenced the production of its much-awaited all-new 2nd generation Honda Amaze. The car is being manufactured at HCIL’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The all-new Amaze will officially go on sale on May 16, while deliveries are being promised to commence immediately after its launch. Speaking on the start of production, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President & Director, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “We are delighted to announce the beginning of production of all – new Honda Amaze. This model will be a game changer for Honda Cars India – both in terms of boosting our business and further strengthening our model-lineup with advanced technology. The 2nd Generation Amaze has received excellent response from customers since its world premiere at the Auto Expo. In terms of design highlights, the new Amaze gets headlamp with LED position light, shark fin antenna, power folding ORVMs with turn indicators and all-new alloy wheels. The compact sedan also gets rear parking camera and parking sensors. Inside the cabin, the Amaze facelift gets multi-functional steering wheel with cruise control, paddle shifters, push start/stop system, and a new floating DIGIPAD 2.0 touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Based on all-new platform, the new Amaze is available with two engine options – 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. While the former is good for 89bhp and 110Nm, the oil burner produces two states of tunes – 99bhp/200Nm for manual mode and 79bhp/160Nm for CVT model. Both engines will be coupled to an optional CVT automatic unit. Adding to it, the Amaze will be the first car in the segment to feature paddle-shifters.
