New-Gen Maruti Swift – Strong Hybrid Tech; Mileage Over 35kmpl

The new-generation Suzuki Swift is currently in testing phase and we have seen its prototypes multiple times revealing interesting design details. The hatchback will witness comprehensive changes in terms of styling, features and powertrain. According to a fresh media report, the new Maruti Swift will come with the strong hybrid tech as we have seen in the newly-launched Grand Vitara. Just so you know, the mid-size SUV’s strong hybrid variants are high in-demand.

Codenamed YED, the new 2024 Maruti Swift will come with the new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine boosted with Toyota’s strong hybrid technology. With this update, the Swift will become the most fuel efficient car in the country. The report further states that the hatchback with the strong hybrid powertrain will deliver a mileage of around 35-40kmpl (ARAI certified). It’s current generation model 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox promises fuel efficiency of 23.76kmpl. The Swift’s new strong hybrid version will also meet the upcoming CAFÉ II (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards.

One must note that the new Maruti Swift higher variants will be exclusively offered with Toyota’s strong hybrid tech. The hatchback’s lower variant will continue to come with the 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine that’s good enough for 90bhp. It will also be available with CNG fuel option. The new Maruti Swift 2024 will carry more angular stance and underpin the modified Heartect platform. It could be packed with a larger infotainment system (new SmartPlay Pro+) with the latest smartphone connectivity, Suzuki voice assist and OTA (over-the-air updates).

With significant cosmetic and feature upgrades and new strong hybrid system, the 2024 Maruti Swift will surely witness a price hike. The hatchback’s hybrid variants are expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh – Rs 1.50 lakh premium over its non-hybrid version. The all-new Swift with strong hybrid tech will hit showrooms in early 2024 (i.e. January – March).
