2021 Nissan X-Trail Revealed – Key Details In 7 Quick Points

2021 Nissan X-Trail has finally been revealed at the ongoing Auto Shanghai Motor Show. It’s the fourth-generation model featuring advanced technologies, turbocharged engines and improved design. The China-spec model will come with a new 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine instead of the 2.5L naturally aspirated, 4-cylinder motor. The new engine has been boosted with Nissan’s VC-Turbo (variable compression) technology ensuring low fuel consumption and high performance. Its power and torque figures stand at 204bhp and 300Nm respectively.

Transmission duties are performed by an improved Xtronic CVT automatic gearbox with wider ratio range and a higher torque capacity. The SUV will offer the second-generation AWD (all-wheel-drive system). Mileage figure stands at 5.8-litres per 100km.

European buyers, on the other hand, will receive the e-Power range-extended electric powertrain. While the official details are yet to be revealed, it’s likely to share power system with the new Qashqai. The latter one comes with a 140kW (191bhp) electric motor and a 156bhp, 1.5L variable compression engine. Similar to the Nissan Leaf electric hatchback, it has ‘e-Pedal’one-pedal operational ability. The new 2021 Nissan X-Trail sits on the updated CMF-C platform that also underpins several Renault and Mitsubishi cars. The new architecture comes with a more responsive steering and new front suspension that’s likely to be offered on the new X-Trail.

2021 Nissan X-Trail Interior

Unlike the US model that has a 9-inch NissanConnect display, the China-spec new X-Trail gets a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There is an 10.8-inch head-up display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display.

The SUV also gets an enhanced ProPilot semi-autonomous driving function, active noise cancellation and triple-zone automatic climate control.

On the exterior, the new Nissan X-Trail 2021 features a large V-motion grille, pronounced front and rear haunches, split LED headlamps, a floating roof and slim trapezoidal taillamps.
