New Mahindra Scorpio SUV spied; launching soon

2017 Mahindra Scorpio SUV

It has been a while since Mahindra has been testing the facelifted version of its top selling Scorpio SUV on the Indian streets. It was speculated that the updated model will be unveiled at the recently held 2014 Auto Expo, that didn’t happen. Now, it is expected that the new model will make its Indian debut by the festive season (Dushera & Diwali). This time, the second generation Scorpio facelift has been caught during its test rounds close to the company’s manufacturing unit in Chennai.

The spotted vehicle was the 2017 Mahindra Scorpio, which has been put on test. The fully camouflaged SUV provides some of the important details. It seems like the updated model will carry a XUV inspired front fascia with 5-bar grille. The side profile looks identical to the current generation model, and the wheelbase and ground clearance too unchanged. However, the size of hood is reduced which will help the company to create roomier cabin.

The next generation Scorpio will get the all new Scorpio’s spare wheel which will be fitted to a side hinged rear door. The prototype spotted doesn’t have rear bumper, which shows that the vehicle will come with 4×4 versions. The 2017 Mahindra Scorpio is based on the monocoque chassis, which in return offers a better road handling.
