South Korean automaker Hyundai has unveiled the all-new seventh generation 2015 Sonata at the New York International Auto Show. It is also expected that the new Hyundai Sonata will also make its Indian debut by the end of this year or by early 2015.

Exterior Design
The new 2015 Sonata adorns the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy which is a confident evolution of the original fluidic sculpture design language that perfectly expresses Sonata’s premium look and excellent value. The front of the sedan gets a large, more refined grille with a wide air intake. The exteriors are blessed with simple and harmonious lines that provide an improved dynamic performance. Stretched, horizontal bench panels reflect the chassis’s stability and surefootedness while the signature Sonata beltline is now stretched tight to accentuate the sedan’s strength. The coupe-like roofline and horizontal lines in the rear underscore makes it adorable. The smart shape of the sedan achieves a remarkable drag coefficient of just 0.27, lower than any non-hybrid in the mid-size sedan class.
The vehicle gets standard LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, a rear lip spoiler and chrome surround for the day light opening. Sonata Limited adds rocker panel extensions and dual exhaust for a premium look. Sonata Sport features a more aggressive front grille and bumper, side rocker extensions and side chrome molding.
Interior Design
The centre stack has intuitive buttons and controls which are angles toward the driver to make the control easier to reach. The height of the display screen for the audio display or 8-inch navigation system and instrument cluster are optimized for visibility and reside on the same plane to enhance readability during a quick glance. The Sonata Sport gets a D-cut steering wheel and paddle shifters, sport instrument cluster with six o’clock needle position and few more. In order to reduce the NVH (Noise, Vibration, harshness) levels, the all new Sonata features the optimized suspension damping that gives occupants a soft, silent and comfortable experience.
Engine & Transmission
The new 2015 Hyundai Sonata is powered by the same 2.4-litre Theta II GDI 4-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 185bhp and 241Nm of top torque. The second engine is a revised 2.0-litre Theta II turbocharged GDI that is capable of producing 245bhp of top power and 352Nm of top torque. Both Theta engines are paired with a six-speed SHIFTRONIC® automatic transmission.
Safety Features
2015 Hyundai Sonata is equipped with several advanced safety and security features such as Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Traction Control, ABS and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System with individual tyre pressure display. The Active safety features includes Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and a Lane Departure Warning System.
