Honda that discontinued the Accord premium saloon is now aiming to re-enter into the luxury sedan market. The company will re-launch the 9th generation of Accord sedan in the Indian car market next year. It is already on sale in several international markets, the ninth-generation of this luxurious sedan looks more appealing and sharper than the previous model. At the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the Japanese marquee unveiled the new Accord hybrid; however, the company hasn’t revealed the engine spec.

Interestingly, the upcoming Accord saloon is slightly compact than its predecessor. The smaller wheelbase of the sedan would result into an improved driveability. With Honda’s “Man Maximum Machine Minimum” philosophy, the next gen Accord is expected to offer spacious cabin. The traditional approach of offering comfortable and spacious cabin will be offered in the next model as well.  The vehicle will look get more compact look at the front which offers the family look. It features LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, adaptive cruise control, etc. The interiors of the saloon would get lot more gizmos to play.

The car also gets improvements in terms of noise, vibration and harshness levels, to make for a quieter and a more car. In terms of engines and transmissions, the 2.4 liter i-VTEC petrol engine (198 Bhp-234 Nm), which is an India-certainty, gets slightly improved performance and fuel efficiency levels. 6 speed manual and CVT automatic transmissions drive the front wheels of the car. Honda also offers a more powerful 3.5 liter V6 petrol motor and a 2 liter petrol-electric hybrid option. While the 9th generation Accord gets a 2.2 liter i-DTEC turbo diesel engine (148 Bhp-350 Nm) in the UK market, it remains to be seen whether Honda ushers in diesel power for the Accord that will soon arrive here.
