Ford India will launch three new cars including the next Figo, Figo sedan and the all-new Endeavour SUV this year. The American automaker has already revealed specifications and details of the upcoming Endeavour SUV. Ahead of its official launch by year, the completely undisguised images of the SUV have hit the web world. The pre-production prototype of the SUV has been spotted in Australia, revealing interiors and exteriors. The spotted model features a manual gear shifter.
Based on the Everest concept, the new generation Ford Endeavour gets premium interiors. It is equipped with Ford’s SYNC II infotainment system, multi-functional steering wheel, an advanced 8-inch touchscreen display, leather cover on steering and gear lever, and an all-new dashboard. The exterior styling of the SUV largely resembles the Everest concept, featuring new grille complemented by headlamps, skid guards, new electrically adjustable and retractable outside rear view mirrors, etc.
Dimensionally, the new Ford Endeavour is 4882mm long, 1862mm wide and 1836mm high, and it has a large wheelbase of 2850mm. It features a high ground clearance of 225mm and it has a large 800cc water wading capacity.
The SUV will be offered in two diesel and one petrol engine- a 2.2-litre TDCi, a 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCi and a 2.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine. While the smaller capacity diesel unit is capable of developing 147.5bhp and 385Nm, the powerful oil burner produces 197bhp and 470Nm of torque. This time, the Endeavour gets the famous 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine that is good for 234bhp and 360Nm of torque. The India-spec model will be offered in diesel version only.
