New 2015 BMW X5 launching soon

German luxury carmaker BMW unveiled the 3rd generation X5 crossover SUV at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo which is scheduled to make its debut by the festive season. However, it seems like the company is in hurry to launch the vehicle as the company has taken off the vehicle from its official site. First unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new model has already been launched in several international markets. The new X5 has got updates both inside and outside.

The new generation model looks quite different from its predecessor and now has tall upright stance and aggressive appearance. At the front, the new model sports broader kidney grille with chrome surrounds and new headlamps with LED inserts. At the back, it feature two piece taillights and the light rings leveled along the bottom edge and flapped at the top edge, which further enhances the overall appearance of the vehicle.

The new model grown 5mm wider, 32mm longer and 14mm taller, which makes it 1938mm wide, 4886mm long and 1762mm high. The new BMW X5 has 2933mm of wheelbase and 650-litres of boot space. On the inside, the model is equipped with freestanding 10.2-inch control display monitor while the instrument panel has 4 round gauges. The company has added several high end features to the model such as lane departure warning and road sign information, head up display, night vision with human and animal detection, 360 degree surround view parking assistant and collision warning.

The new generation BMW X5 gets the same 4.4-litre petrol mill that churns out a maximum power output of 407bhp and 600Nm of torque. The oil burner gets the 3.0-litre diesel engine that produces 245bhp and 540Nm of top torque. The new BMW X5 is expected to be locally assembled at the company’s Chennai manufacturing unit which will help BMW to price it competitive.
