Japanese carmaker Toyota is all set to launch the all new Corolla Altis sedan in the Indian car market. It is the 11th generation of legendary Corolla, which comes with a revolutionary new style, luxurious and comfortable interiors and a dynamic performance.

Toyota India will launch the all-new Corolla Altis by the last week of May, 2014. Bookings for the car have already been commence, while the deliveries are expected to begin from the day of its launch. Moreover, Toyota will also launch the new Etios Cross in the first week of May.

The new Toyota Corolla Altis has reached the dealerships ahead of its May launch. The new model will be available in both petrol and diesel guise. The petrol variants are J, G, G CVT, GL, VL, while the oil burners are J, J(S), G, GL.
The top spec VL variant will be loaded with several advanced features including- Smart entry, push start system, dual tone interiors, LED headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in, rain sensing wipers and auto headlamps, navigation system, reverse parking camera and sensors, paddle shifts and many more.
Unveiling and Launch
The new generation Toyota Corolla Altis sedan was unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. It is the same model, which already been launched in several international markets. This model is expected to be launched by the end of this month. The company has already started taking pre-orders at an initial down payment of Rs. 50,000. We expect the deliveries to commence from the next week of its launch.
Features and changes
The new Toyota Corolla Altis sedan gets a new stylish grille, LED headlamps, 4 LED clearance lamps along with new 16-inch alloy wheels, which add to its dynamic character. To offer a rich feel, the interiors of the sedan gets dual tone colour scheme, plush leather seats and cyber carbon piano black instrument panel cluster. It comes equipped with a series of high end features including push start/stop button, smart entry, rain sensor, rear power socket and others. For music lovers, it has new 7-inch touch screen, one button operation and voice command capable audio system with USB, Bluetooth, navigation, back camera and mirror link.
To further enhance the overall cabin space, the company has increased the rear seat leg room by around 100mm, thanks to an increase in wheelbase (from 2600mm to 2700mm). Moreover, the driving position has been enhanced by changing the steering angle from 24 degree to 22 degree. The vertical adjustment of the seat has been increased from 45 mm to 60 mm.
Engine & Specification
Mechanically, the new Toyota Corolla Altis remains unchanged. It will continue to be made available with the same 1.8-litre Dual VV-I petrol engine producing 138bhp and the 1.4L D-4D diesel engine that produces 87bhp. The petrol variant is available in both 7-speed automatic as well as 6 speed manual transmission. The diesel engine is paired to a 6 speed manual transmission.
Price
The new Toyota Corolla is expected to be priced around 30,000-50,000 more than the current model. It is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 12.6-17 lakh.
