Tata Motors India has silently introduced the Aria facelift in the Indian car market. Launched in 2010, the vehicle failed to generate sales volume for the company. The new Tata Aria is now priced at Rs. 9.95 lakh for the entry level Pure LX 4×2 model and Rs. 14.74 lakh for the top spec 4×4 Pride variant, prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
The new Aria gets cosmetic upgrades both inside and outside. It features a newly designed smoked headlamps, restyled bumper, grille and clear lens tail lamps. The side profile looks identical to its previous model; however it now sports ‘Aria’ decals. Inside the cabin, the top spec Aria features automatic climate control and 17-inch alloy wheels. Adding to it, the crossover MPV also has 4×4 Adapterra, which offers torque on demand, new Harman music system with 6 speakers and 4 twitters, navigation system and others.
Under the hood, the new 2014 Tata Aria facelift gets the same 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, which is tuned to offer more power and improved performance. This engine now churns out a maximum power output of 148bhp, which is around 10bhp more than the previous model, and 320Nm of top torque. The gearbox is also tuned to reduce the NVH levels.
Like its previous model, the updated Aria also comes loaded with several advanced features including ESP with traction control, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, cruise control, glove box chiller, puddle lamps, rain sensing auto wipers, darkness sensing auto headlamps and many more.
