India’s leading SUV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce the facelifted version of its best selling sports utility vehicle, the Scorpio in the Indian car market. The vehicle has been spotted several times during its test rounds, and this time the fresh spied images of the SUV have surfaced on the web.

This time the Overdrive India managed to click the vehicle during its test mules in Tamil Nadu. This time the SUV spotted with minimum camouflage suggesting that its launch could happen anytime. The vehicle spied was the base model, featuring black bumpers and steel wheels.

The Scorpio facelift sports restyled front fascia with new headlamps with projectors instead of the regular bulbs. Its grille and bumpers have also been reworked to provide a refreshing look. The side profile looks identical to its current car, while the tail lamps have been tweaked although carries the same shape.

Inside the cabin, the refreshed Scorpio has steering wheel directly sourced from the XUV500.  The vehicle has rectangular shaped AC vents with chrome surrounds in place of circular AC vents. It also gets an upgraded music system and a touchscreen infotainment unit. The dashboard will sport a beige colour scheme and will have wood inserts to offer a more upmarket feel.

Mechanically, the SUV is likely to remain unchanged. Under the hood, the vehicle will continue to be propelled by a 2.2-litre mHawk engine producing 120PS and a 2.5-litre m2DiCR engine that produces 75PS. The engines will be paired either to the 6-speed auto or 5-speed manual transmission.

Additionally, the company is also working on a new generation Scorpio model which will make its way to the Indian car market in 2016-17.
