Jaguar India is all set to introduce the new 2014 Jaguar XJ saloon in the Indian car market next month. This model will be locally produced which will help the company to keep its cost down. The current generation XJ limousine is priced at Rs. 1.16 crore (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The locally assembled Jaguar XJ is likely to cost around Rs. 90-95 lakh, which is around 20 lakh cheaper than the current model.
The 2014 Jaguar XJ is also likely to get some interiors updates including reclining seats in the rear with message settings, height adjustable rear seats with lumbar support, newly designed central console and armrest, LED reading lights in the rear, electric side blinks and few more. The front seats are likely to feature five massage settings, while the headroom height has been increased by 13mm.
The new 2014 Jaguar will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. The petrol version of the saloon gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 240PS and a peal torque of 340Nm. This model sprints to 100kmph from zero in just 7.5 seconds and attains a top speed of 241kmph. The oil burner is propelled by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder unit producing 275pS and 600Nm of top torque. It does the 0-100kmph run in mere 6.4 seconds and catches a top speed of 250kmph. The Jaguar XJ Limousine will compete against the likes of Audi A8L, BMW 7-Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
