Japanese carmaker Honda that launched the new 2014 City sedan in India and Thailand, has launched the vehicle in the Malaysian market. The fourth-generation City has received an overwhelming response from car buyers in India.

The new generation Honda City comes with new front and rear fascia, however the overall proportions of the mid-sized sedan remains unchanged. It comes with a larger wheelbase which in return offers an improved cabin space. The new Honda City gets several advanced features including push button start, automatic climate control and infotainment system with touchscreen, rear AC vents, leather upholstery and reverse parking sensors with camera. On safety front, the sedan gets dual airbags, anti-lock braking system with EBD and others.

In India, the new Honda City is offered in both diesel and petrol version. The Malaysian market only gets the petrol variant. Powering the vehicle is the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine producing 117bhp of top power and 145Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission gearbox.

For Malaysian buyers, the new City is offered in four variants- S, S+, E and V. The V model is the top spec variant which comes equipped with features like seven-inch touchscreen, eight speakers, touch-panel automatic climate control, rear air-con vents, leather steering wheel with audio and cruise control switches, keyless entry and many more. Adding to it, the sedan also gets vehicle stability control and hill start assist systems. All variants are available in five different exterior shades- Modern Steel Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic and a new Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic.

The new 2014 Honda City is priced at RM75,800 (around Rs. 14 lakh) for base model and RM90,800 (around Rs. 16.8 lakh) for top spec model.
