4. Ford Aspire
Another Ford in the list is the Aspire sub-4 meter sedan. This model was first unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo as Figo concept. It is undoubtedly one of the good looking compact sedans in India. Despite being equipped with capable engines, solid build quality and feature-loaded cabin, the Aspire never put sales chart on fire. The car’s suspension and steering set-up feels sorted, making it more fun to drive.
5. Renault Lodgy
Renault’s MPV showed great potential at the time of launch. Pitted squarely against Toyota Innova Crysta, it offers great space even on the third row and a raft of features. With the new Innova Crysta getting comprehensive changes, the gap between both the models has widened further. The Lodgy carline comes in diesel variants offering power in two states of tune-84bhp and 108bhp.
6. Volkswagen Ameo
Meant exclusively for the Indian market, this subcompact sedan from the German conglomerate is based on its ace hatchback Polo. The fierce competition in the subcompact sedan segment is probably making it difficult for Ameo to keep rivals at bay. Akin to Polo, it comes with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre TDI oil burner.
