Kiirus Autosports, the Mumbai-based car tuning and ECU ramping firm, has introduced the Jeep Compass with a remapped engine. The modified model is the petrol automatic variant of the SUV packed with a 1.4-litre 4 cylinder turbocharged engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. While the stock version delivers a maximum power of 160bhp with 250Nm of torque, Kirrus’ modified Jeep Compass produces 188bhp with 295Nm of torque.
With the engine remapping, it becomes India’s most powerful Compass petrol SUV. This modified Jeep Compass is around 20% more powerful and torquier than the stock model. Besides the boosted turbocharger, the modified Jeep Compass offers faster shifts that further enhance its drivability. This Jeep Compass remapping will cost you Rs 35,000. Since its launch in July 2017, the Jeep Compass has been a volume generator for the American SUV maker in India. In fact, the Compass instantly becomes the latest favorite of Bollywood celebrities such as Jacqueline Fernandez and Akshay Kumar. Recently, the SUV achieved 19,000 sales mark in the country.
Currently, the Compass is available in 10 variants spread across three trims – Sport, Longitude and Limited. Prices of the SUV start from Rs 15.16 lakh for the entry-level Sport 1.4MAIR variant and go up to Rs 21.91 for the range-topping Limited 4X4 (O) 2.0D variant. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The SUV lineup comes in two powertrain options – a 1.4L MultiAir turbocharged petrol and a 2.0L Multiject II diesel. Both the engines are available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
