In this article, we talk about the list of new most awaited upcoming new cars that will be launched in the Indian market soon after the lockdown.

New Honda City

2020 Honda City Launch Date

The long-awaited new-gen Honda City was planned to be launched in March-April 2020. However, the launch has been postponed due to COVID-19. The new model is now likely to be launched in May or June 2020. It will be based on the modified version of the existing platform, which also underpins the new-gen Jazz sold abroad. The new model will be offered with 2 BSVI compliant engines – a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

New Mahindra Thar

2020 Mahindra Thar Launch Date

The long-awaited new-gen Mahindra Thar is now likely to be launched in June-July 2020. It was planned to be unveiled in April 2020. The new model is based on the ZEN 3 platform, which underpins the current-gen Scorpio and the TUV300. The Thar will be offered with two new engines – a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel and a 1.5-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol.

MG Hector Plus

MG Hector Plus Launch Date

MG Motors has officially announced the much-awaited Hector Plus 6-seater SUV will be launched in June 2020. The new model will be offered with 6-and 7-seat options. It will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Gravitas. The new model will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. The petrol version will receive the 1.5L petrol engine.

Skoda Karoq

Skoda Karoq India Launch Price

Czech automaker, Skoda will launch the much-awaited Karoq 5-seater SUV on May 6, 2020. The new model will be imported as a CKD unit, and will be priced around Rs 18 lakh – Rs 25 lakh. It will rival the likes of the Volkswagen T-ROC, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. The SUV will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 148bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed DSG automatic.
