2018’s Most Awaited Upcoming Bikes in India

Here’s all you want to know about the most-anticipated upcoming bikes of the year 2018 –

1. Hero XPulse 200

Hero XPulse 200 Upcoming Launch

At the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, Hero MotoCorp had showcased the production version of its new dual-purpose motorcycle – XPulse 200. This off-road performance motorcycle was first previewed as concept at the 2017 EICMA Motor Show. It is basically the bigger iteration of the 150cc Hero Impulse dual-sport motorcycle, which was discontinued last year. Based on the diamond frame chassis, the new XPulse is powered by a 200cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that also powers the Xtreme 200. On the Xtreme 200R, this engine produces 18.4bhp and 17.1Nm of torque. However, this engine will be tweaked to offer more punch in lower revs and better off-roading experience. 2. Benelli Leoncino

Next to join the list of most awaited upcoming new bikes in India is the Benelli Leoncino. It is basically the brand’s neo-retro naked motorcycle, which will be brought to India as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit, and will be locally assembled. This motorcycle will challenge the Harley Davidson Street 750. Powering the motorcycle is a 499.6cc parallel-twin engine that is good for 49.6bhp of power and 45Nm of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. Built on a tubular steel-trellis frame, the neo-retro styled motorcycle that rides on 17-inch alloys. For suspension duties, the motorcycle gets 50mm USD front forks and monoshock with 112mm travel at the rear. 3. Hero Xtreme 200R

After conquering the affordable category, Hero MotoCorp is now aiming to mark its strong presence in the growing performance segment. At the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the homegrown two-wheeler maker had showcased the Xtreme 200S, XF3R and HX250R concepts. The company has already revealed the production-ready Xtreme 200 R at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Adding to it, Hero has confirmed that the motorcycle will go on sale in India this year.

It is the first naked sportsbike from Hero MotoCorp. The new motorcycle will be powered by a 200cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is good for 18.5bhp of power and 17.2Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. Know More

4. BMW G310R

BMW Motorrad had commenced its Indian operations in 2017. The company will launch its most affordable bike – the BMW G310R in during spring season (i.e. March or April). This bike has been jointly developed by BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company. This naked sportsbike production has already been commenced at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur-based plant in Bengaluru. The naked streetfighter will be powered by a 313cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder water-cooled engine that will also power the TVS Akula 310. 5. BMW G 310 GS

BMW G 310 GS India

This will be BMW’s most affordable adventure motorcycle for the Indian markets. Based on the BMW G310R platform, the G 310 GS Adventure bike made its global debut at the 2016 EICMA in Milan. In fact, BMW had showcased this adventure tourer at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The bike share some of its design elements with the popular F 700GS. It is the third product developed jointly by BMW & TVS, and will target enthusiasts in the country. 6. Benelli TNT 135

DSK Benelli TNT 135

First unveiled at 2015 EICMA, the smallest Benelli made its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. The naked motorcycle won’t have a direct competition in the Indian market. This mini sports bike is propelled by a 135cc, 4-stroke engine that churns out a maximum power output of 12.4bhp and a peak torque of 10.8Nm. 7. Hero HX250R

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler maker will launch the long-awaited HX250R fully-faired motorcycle in India. First revealed at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo in concept form, the motorcycle was designed by Hero and US-based technology collaborator Erik Buell Racing AVL and Engines Engineering. This 250cc bike is built on an all-new lightweight Geodesic Tubular platform. It is also the first two-wheeler to get dual-riding modes- City and Sports. Some of the design highlights include twin multi-reflector halogen headlamp, LED lights, under seat exhaust system and digital instrument console.

Powering the motorcycle will be an all-new 249cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with dual mode fuel injection system and two ECU maps for dual-riding modes – City and Sports. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine produces 31bhp of power and 26Nm of torque. The model showcased was claimed to achieve 0-60kmph and 100kmph in just 2.7 seconds and 9 seconds, respectively. 8. RE Interceptor/Continental GT 650

Royal Enfield will launch its most powerful motorcycle in the Indian market this year. The company had showcased the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 at the 2017 EICMA (Milan Motor Show). It is expected that RE could launch one model this year, while the next bike could go on sale in 2019. The new motorcycle is estimated to be priced around Rs 3.5 – Rs 4 lakh in India. This new middleweight motorcycle measures 2,122mm in length, 744mm in width and 1,024mm in height, and offers a seat height of 790kgs. Powering the motorcycle is an all-new parallel-twin, 648cc, oil-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve fuel injected engine that churns out 47bhp of maximum power at 7,100rpm, while pushing out a peak torque of 52Nm at 4,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox.
