Hyundai India will launch the much-awaited new generation 2015 Hyundai Elite i20 on August 11. This will also mark the global debut of the new i20, which will also go on display at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Bookings for the new Elite i20 have already been commenced and the deliveries are expected to commence from August 11. While the vehicle has already reached the dealerships, the new details about the changes and new additions pouring in.
Interestingly, the new generation Hyundai i20 will be introduced in manual version; however, we believe that the company might later introduce the automatic variant of the hatchback. It will come in five trim levels- Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta Optional or Magna Optional in both petrol and diesel guise. Under the hood, the vehicle gets the same 89bhp, 1.4-litre diesel and 83bhp, 1.2-litre petrol. While the petrol engine will be paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox, the oil burner will feature the six-speed manual gearbox. The petrol model is claimed to hit a top speed of 165km while diesel accelerates up to 170kmph.
The new Hyundai Elite i20 is reportedly 24mm wider than its predecessor resulting into a more shoulder room. The wheelbase has been extended by 45mm which in return offers a spacious cabin. However, the overall length of the car is reduced by 10mm to 3985mm while the height stands at 1505mm. The ground clearance has been increased by 4mm to 169mm, which is a good improvement. The top-end variant will feature the 16-inch alloy wheels.
The new Hyundai i20 Elite get dual tone interior scheme (Brown & Beige). It comes equipped with rear AC vents, front centre arm rest with storage space, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in connectivity. The seat upholstery and material quality is improved. It also has impact sensing door unlock, clutch lock, steering adaptive parking assist, service reminder, follow me home-lamps, 1-touch lane change indicators, smart pedals, etc. If media reports are to be believed, the Hyundai Elite i20 gets new exterior shades including Polar white, mystic blue, sleek silver, stardust, passion red, Midas gold and pristine blue.
