India’s love affair with its beloved hatchback is not coming to an end anytime soon. No points for guessing, we are talking about ‘Maruti Swift’. While the model is readying for a generation change, it still enjoys massive popularity.

The hatchback still finds a spot on the top 10 best-selling cars (it varies every month) in India with second highest sales in May 2017. In what could be termed as the ‘festival of Swift’, the Bangkok International Auto Salon, 2017 witnessed an influx of modified Suzuki Swifts and here are some picks from the event. Just so you know, the Bangkok International Auto Salon is the largest aftermarket parts show within the ASEAN region. What turned out to be interesting is the array of custom Swifts, sporting funky colours and new bits. While the yellow and black colour scheme is often related with taxis in India, this mod Swift by JK Motorport looked funkier and sportier than the regular Indian model. Donning low profile rims, the hatchback seems to have been lowered. Up front, it gets the mesh grille and a new bumper that comes with a front splitter, with black finishing. While the headlamps seem to be inspired by the Suzuki Swift Sport variant, other bits such as the carbon fibre hood and the roof mounted rear spoiler complete the look.

Among the several other mod Swifts, the one that caught everyone’s eye was the one sporting blue and neon green bits. The ‘Indy RS’ decals further enhanced its visual appeal. Video: New Maruti Suzuki Swift – Design Review

While the paint scheme looks like the one on 2017 Suzuki Swift Racer RS, displayed at the 2017 Tokyo Auto Salon earlier this year, this mod Swift also features black rims, aftermarket headlamps with black inserts and LED DRLs.

Amid the greens, orange, yellows and silvers, there was a black coloured Swift with red highlights around rims, decals, rear spoiler and side skirts that stood out of the lot.
