Mitsubishi Motors has never been a major auto player in the Indian market. The reasons that have put it down in the market are limited product lineup and dealership network. With an aim to grab a bit of the growing SUV space, the Japanese carmaker is reportedly planning to bring in the Outlander SUV in the country. Besides this, the company has also expanded its Pajero Sport carline with a new variant. Called the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Select Plus, this new variant has been put on display at the company’s Ghaziabad-based dealership – Vivek Autolinks.

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Select Plus variant carries a price tag of Rs 28.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Currently, the SUV carline comes in four variants – 4X2 AT, 4X2 AT Dual Tone, 4X4 and 4X4 Dual Tone – priced at Rs 27.69 lakh, Rs 28.19 lakh, Rs 28.1 lakh and Rs 28.59 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. Painted in dual-tone shade, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Select Plus features black radiator grille, black front bumper guard and aggressive black HID projector headlamps with LED DRLs. Towards the side, the SUV sports pronounced black wheel arches with black 17-inch, 12-spoke alloy wheels, chrome door handles and chrome ORVMs with electrical adjustment and electrical retract. The black roof with black roof rails adds more to its sporty appearance. The car also gets chrome license plate garnish.
Proportionally, the new Pajero Sport variant is 4,695mm long, 1,815mm wide and 1,840mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,800mm and its ground clearance stands at 215 mm. Similar to the exterior, the cabin of the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Select Plus variant has sporty appeal. The list of features includes a 6-speaker infotainment system with navigation, DVD player behind front headrests, multi-way power adjustable driver seat and cruise control. The illuminated scuff plates, leather-wrapped steering wheel and sporty beige leather seats give a premium touch to the car.
Under the hood, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Select Plus hearts a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged four-cylinder making a top power of 175.5bhp (178PS) at 4,000rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1,800rpm and 3,500rpm. The SUV can be brought be either with a 5-speed manual transmission or the INVECS-II 5-speed automatic gearbox.
