Mitsubishi Attrage to be sold under Fiat-Chrysler name in Asia

Mitsubishi Attrage sedan to come India

Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi will supply sedans to Fiat-Chrysler for the Asian markets. The first product will be the Mitsubishi Attrage, which is speculated to come India as well. Now, the Attrage sedan will be sold under Fiat-Chrysler badge in the Asian market.

The Mitsubishi Attrage is based on the Mirage hatchback which is developed at the company’s Thailand production plant. It is a global compact sedan which specifically targets Asian markets. If media reports are to be believed, the re-badged Attrage will be sold in the Chinese market later this year. The official announcement will be announced next week.

Fiat Chrysler is aiming to increase its market share in China and in the Asia-Pacific region. This budget friendly and fuel efficient Attrage could benefit the company to expand its wings in this growing market.

The Mitsubishi Attrage is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder MIVEC engine that also powers the Mirage hatchback. This engine is capable of developing 76bhp of power and 100Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual or a CVT auto gearbox.
