The MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Pro Edition has been launched in India priced at Rs 43.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Akin to all MINI models, the limited edition has also been introduced as a completely built unit (CBU). The Pro Edition is available on the 3-door MINI Cooper S and comes with an additional tuning kit by JCW. Along with the standard kit, customers also get an option for the original JCW accessories that further enhance it visually.
As claimed by BMW, the MINI JCW Pro Edition takes inspiration from the racing DNA of John Cooper Works. That said, it features unique styling, dynamic driving traits and MINI’s go-kart characteristics. One must note that MINIJCW Pro Edition is available only on Amazon India. In comparison to the standard model, the limited edition gets some additional styling bits borrowed from John Cooper Works. Among the new elements, the limited edition boasts of a red roof and red painted wing mirrors. The black matte paint job features red pinstripes. The performance hatch additionally receives LED headlamps that are surrounded by black finished bezels. Aside from the above bits, the limited edition also gets JCW aerodynamic package and John Cooper Works emblem at the back. The hatchback sits on a 17-inch cosmos spoke black alloy wheels wrapped with 205 profile tyres. In line with its sporty exterior, the car gets styling updates to the interior that include Alcantra finished John Cooper Sport Seats with integrated headrests highlighted by contrast Red Dinamica. It also features JCW steering wheel with perforated leather and red stitching that adjusts the steering sensitivity for enhanced performance while on the move. Power on the performance hatchback comes from the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder twin turbo petrol engine that makes 208bhp against 300Nm of top torque, which is around 19bhp and 20Nm more than the standard Cooper S. Transmission duties on the limited edition are taken care of by a 6-speed Steptronic unit that transmits power to the front wheels. Taking a lead of 0.2 seconds over its standard version, the limited-edition sprints from 0 to 100km/h within 6.5 seconds.
In terms of comfort and infotainment tech, the MINI JCW Pro Edition packs in Head-Up Display, 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, Launch Control, three driving modes with comfort, sport and efficiency options. As for the safety bits, it is armed with airbags, DCS, ABS, Cornering Brake Control, Run-Flat indicator etc.
