Mini, the British automotive marque, has rolled out a special edition of the Cooper S hatchback. Called the Mini Cooper S Carbon Edition, this limited edition has been priced Rs 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). This makes it around Rs 7 lakh pricier than the regular model that costs Rs 31.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Since it’s a special edition, only 20 units of the car will be sold exclusively via Amazon India.
What is new with the Mini Cooper S Carbon Edition is the high-grade carbon fiber accessories such as a JCW aerodynamic kit, 17-inch alloy wheels with 205 profile tyres, side stripes, carbon fibre tailpipes, JCW sports seats and Bluetooth exhaust control. Mini is also offering an aerodynamic package with the car – ‘Wind Package’ – that will cost additional Rs 2 lakh. This limited edition also gets John Cooper Works performance kit.
Though, the major change comes in the form of a more powerful engine boosted with JCW performance kit. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo motor is tuned to churn out 210bhp and 300Nm of torque. On the regular model, this mill offers 192hp and 280Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the wheels via a 6-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and Launch Control.
The Mini Cooper S Carbon Edition is claimed to achieve 0-100kph in 6.5 seconds, thus making it 0.2 seconds faster than standard model. The top speed has been raised by 20kmph – 300kmph. This special edition returns 15.7kmpl of mileage.
