MG ZS EV SUV India Launch On 27th January

MG ZS EV Launch Date

MG Motor India has announced that it will launch the ZS EV electric SUV on 27th January, 2020. The first 1000 customers will get the vehicle on introductory price. Official bookings of the MG ZS EV were commenced on 21st December and will be closed on 17th January. Initially, the new electric SUV from MG will be made available in select 5 cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.

In India, the MG ZS EV will be brought via CKD (completely knocked down) route and then assembled at the company’s Halol based facility in Gujarat. Its prices are likely to fall in the range of Rs 22 lakh – Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

The MG ZS EV comes with a 44.5 kWh IP6 certified battery pack powering a synchronous motor that delivers a peak power of 141bhp and a peak torque of 353Nm. It’s claimed to cover 0 to 100kmph in 8.5 seconds and offer an electric range of around 340km on a single charge. The electric SUV comes with 3 drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sport. The electric SUV will come with three charging options – an onboard cable charger, an AC fast charger and a DC superfast charger. Customers can charge the SUV by plugging its onboard cable charger at any 15amp power socket. While the AC fast charger will be installed by the carmaker at home or office of the customers, the DC superfast charger will be available at select MG showrooms.

MG ZS EV Specs

The vehicle’s Lithium-Ion battery pack takes 40 minutes to get charge up to 80% in 40 minutes via a 50 kW DC charger and up to 7 hours via a standard 7.4 kW charger. Similar to the MG Hector, the new MG ZS EV will be packed with connected features along with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
