MG Motor India has recorded retail sales of 4,503 units in June 2022, reporting a growth of 27 per cent over the corresponding month last year. The company had launched the updated ZS EV pure electric SUV in January 2022. The SUV hard recorded sales of more than 5,000 cars since launch. The company is also recording over 1,000 bookings per month for the new ZS EV.
The new MG ZS EV comes equipped with the segment-largest 50.3 kWh battery pack and an electric motor that delivers power worth 143bhp and 353Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer a certified range of 461km in a single charge. The new model is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 8.5 seconds. It continues to come with the FWD system, a single-speed automatic gearbox and multiple drive modes.
The new MG ZS EV is currently available in a single fully-loaded Exclusive variant, which is priced at Rs 25.88 lakh (ex-showroom). MG will soon introduce a new entry-level Excite variant, which will cost Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is equipped with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, digital Bluetooth key, rear drive assist, 360 degree camera, i-Smart with 75+ connected car features, hill descent control, etc.
The MG ZS EV features a globally certified battery that has passed 8 special safety tests, including fire, collision, dust, smoke, etc. The company is also working on strengthening the EV infrastructure in India. The brand has recently launched ‘MG Charge’, where 1000 AC fast chargers will be installed at residential localities across India.
