MG ZS EV Electric SUV Unveiled; Launch In January 2020
MG Motor India has finally unveiled its second product for the Indian market – the MG ZS EV. Official bookings of the fully-electric car have also been commenced from today (5th December) and its launch will take place in January, 2020. Initially, the MG ZS electric SUV will be made available in only 5 cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. Read – 4 New MG SUVs Planned For India
The all-new MG ZS EV comes with a 44.5kWh battery powering a synchronous motor that pushes out a peak power of 141bhp and 353Nm of torque. The lithium-ion battery takes 40 minutes to get charged up to 80% with a 50kW DC charger and 7 hours with a standard 7kW charger.
The company claims that the MG ZS EV delivers a range of 300km on a single charge. Recently, MG installed its first fast charging station at its flagship dealership in Gurugram. It has been setup in collaboration with Finland-based clean energy major Fortum. The electric vehicles that are compatible with CCS/CHAdeMO charging standards can also be charged via MG’s smart chargers. Read – Affordable MG Electric Car Under Development
The MG ZS EV comes with the over-the-air (OTA) technology along with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Features such as Bluetooth and USB (at front and rear) connectivity, a flat bottomed steering wheel, rear view parking camera and a sky roof are also on offer.
As far as dimensions go, the MG ZS EV measures 4314mm in length, 1809mm in width and 1620mm in height with a wheelbase of 2579mm. Some of its design highlights include the diamond-studded pattern for the grille with a chrome surround, front bumper with some sculpted lines and wide airdam, sharp LED headlamps, silver roof rails, stylish alloy wheels and ORVMs with integrated indicators.
