MG ZS EV Bookings To Open On 5th December, Launch In January 2020
MG Motor’s second product for India will be an electric SUV called – MG ZS EV. The vehicle will make its official debut on coming 5th December and its launch will take place in January 2020. The carmaker will start accepting pre-bookings for its new electric vehicle from its unveiling day i.e. 5th December, 2019.
Initially, the MG ZS EV will be launched in 5 select cities Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. It’s estimated to cost between Rs 22 lakh – Rs 25 lakh and compete against the Hyundai Kona EV.
A synchronous motor with a 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack will serve as power source for the MG ZS EV. It’s claimed to return a range of 300km on a single charge. The electric motor will produce a peak power of 141bhp against 353Nm of torque.
Customers will be able to charge it up to 80% in 40 minutes via a 50kW DC charger that will be installed across different cities. The British carmaker will setup the charging network with Fortum India across 5 major cities of the country. The MG ZS EV’s battery pack will also support the standard 7kW charger. It will take 7 hours to get fully charged via standard power socket.

Some of its key features will include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support, Bluetooth connectivity, USB mobile charger at the front and rear, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, rear view parking camera and more.
