MG RC 6 Sedan Showcased At Auto Expo 2020

MG RC6 Sedan

MG Motor has showcased a uniquely designed RC6 sedan at the Auto Expo 2020. The MG RC6, which is essentially the rebadged Baojun RC6, is a cross between a coupe, a sedan and an off-roader. While the high ground clearance (198mm) gives it a SUV-ish look, the three box layout makes it more like a sedan. It also carries coupe-like flowing roof that looks similar to the BMW 3 Series GT. The MG RC6 sedan measures 4925mm in length and sits on a 2800mm long wheelbase, thus making it significantly bigger. The height and width of the vehicle stand at 1880mm and 1580mm respectively. The new MG sedan sports a large wraparound grille, LED headlamps with high and low beam switching, fighter-jet like faux intakes and a long and flat hood at the front end.

Other design highlights include blackened running boards, bold side creases, flowing roofline and darkened rear valance. In terms of features, the MG RC6 offers several connected features along with a multi-function high-definition camera, blind spot collision – avoidance assist, advanced adaptive cruise control, traffic sign warning and traffic speed assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist and traffic jam assist. At the heart of the MG RC6 sedan is a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine sourced from the Hector. The gasoline unit makes a top power of 143bhp and a peak torque of 245Nm. In China, the sedan is offered with a 6-speed manual and a virtual 8-speed CVT gearbox option.
