The company will launch 4 models – Hector, eZS EV, Hector 7-seater and the B-segment SUV in the next 18 months.

MG Motors is all set to enter into the Indian market with an all-new Hector 5-seater premium SUV. This SUV will directly rival the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass. The second product for the MG in India will be an all-electric SUV – MG eZS. Adding to it, the carmaker will also launch 2 new models in India in 2020. What’s interesting is that the company is readying a 5-seater B-segment SUV, which will arrive in 2020.

The new B-SUV will directly rival the Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks. For people not in the know, the MG Motors is the part of the Chinese SAIC Motor Company that owns the Baojun SUV nameplate as well. Interestingly, the company is testing the Baojun 510 SUV in India. It is expected that MG will retail the re-engineered Baojun 510 SUV in India.

Measuring above 4 meters in length, the Baojun 510 is very close to the size of Hyundai Creta. The Hyundai Creta measures 4,270mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,665mm in height, while the Baojun 510 is 4,220mm, 1,740mm and 1,615mm in length, width and height respectively.

The MG Hector is also the re-engineered Baojun 530 SUV. In fact, MG is also considering the 7-seater version of the Hector SUV that will share the design with the recently introduced 7-seater Baojun 530. It is quite evident that MG will initially bring SUVs in India. The company will launch 4 models – Hector, eZS EV, Hector 7-seater and the B-segment SUV in the next 18 months.
