MG Hector SUV will rival the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Tata Harrier.
MG Motors has recently revealed the name for its first model, which happens to be an all-new premium SUV, for the Indian market. Called the MG Hector, the SUV is scheduled to be launched in the mid-2019, most probably in June 2019. The SUV will have around 75% of local components that indicates towards aggressive pricing. The SUV will rival the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Tata Harrier.
MG Motors will load the SUV with lots of comfort and convenience features. In fact, the MG Hector will come with several segment leading features, which includes segment largest panoramic sunroof, largest touchscreen infotainment system and 360-degree surround view camera.
Largest Panoramic Sunroof – the MG Hector will come with a massive dual-pane panoramic glass sunroof that measures 1,460m X 832m, making it bigger than the Jeep Compass’ sunroof. This electric sunroof system will have pop-up and slide on functions.
360-degree Camera – The SUV will also be equipped with a segment-first 360-degree surround view camera, which will make parking and driving on tight roads easy.
Largest Touchscreen infotainment system – The MG Hector will be equipped with segment largest touchscreen infotainment system. It will come with 10.4 inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, which will have controls for the infotainment system and climate control. The MG Hector SUV will be equipped with several high-end features like an electronic parking brake with auto vehicle hold, a six-way power adjustable driver’s seat, push-button start, tyre pressure monitoring and multiple airbags. The SUV will be available with 2 engine options – a 162bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and a 170bhp, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel. Both manual and automatic versions are likely to be on offer.
