MG Hector SUV will make its first public appearance in April 2019

It is no secret that MG Motors will launch the much-awaited MG Hector SUV in the Indian market in mid-2019. The 5-seater premium SUV is based on the Baojun 530 SUV, which is currently on sale in the Chinese market. The company hasn’t released the exact launch details of the new SUV, which will rival the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and Tata Harrier.

If new media reports are to be believed, the MG Hector will make its first public appearance in April 2019. The SUV is most likely to be launched in June 2019. The carmaker is aiming to open about 105 dealerships by the time it introduces the new Hector SUV. The upcoming MG Hector SUV will be one of the most advanced and feature-loaded SUVs in its category.

MG has confirmed that the Hector will be an internet SUV, which will be accessible via the SUV’s large tablet-like infotainment system. MG has also joined hands with Adobe to further improve the software experience. The SUV will be equipped with several segment-first features including largest panoramic sunroof, 360 degree surround view camera and largest touchscreen infotainment system. The MG Hector will be equipped with segment largest touchscreen infotainment system. It will come with 10.4 inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, which will have controls for the infotainment system and climate control. This system will be compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and navigation. It comes with a massive dual-pane panoramic glass sunroof with pop-up and slide on functions. Adding to it, the MG Hector SUV will be equipped with several high-end features like electronic parking brake with auto vehicle hold, a six-way power adjustable driver’s seat, tyre pressure monitoring, push-button start and multiple airbags. The SUV will be available with 2 engine options – a 162bhp, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and a 170bhp, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel. Both manual and automatic versions are likely to be on offer.
