MG Hector Plus (Tata Gravitas Rival) Launching In June
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown several car launches have been delayed. MG Motor India, however, has decided to stick to its plan and ready to launch the Hector Plus and Gloster on time. Recently, Rajeev Chaba, President & MG, MG Motor India, has confirmed that the company will launch MG Hector Plus in month of June, 2020.
The Hector Plus is essentially the three-row version of the Hector 5-seater SUV. The vehicle made its first public appearance at this year’s Auto Expo alongside the Gloster. In terms of styling, the 6-seater SUV is slightly different than its younger sibling. Upfront, it carries an all-black grille, thicker LED DRLs, revised bumper and newly-designed headlamps and fog lamps.
The rear section has also been revised with the new bumper, revised taillamps and a newly-designed dual exhaust. Save for the length, the dimensions of the MG Hector Plus are similar to its 5-seater sibling. It measures 1835mm in length that makes it 40mm longer than the regular Hector.
The 6-seater SUV from MG has captain seats in the second row. Reports suggest that the carmaker will also bring in the 7-seater Hector Plus featuring middle-row bench. The vehicle will receive an updated 10.4-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment system along with MG’s in-car connectivity technology and a panoramic sunroof. Similar to the regular model, the MG Hector Plus will be offered with three powertrain options – a 1.5L turbo petrol, a 1.5L petrol with 48V mild-hybrid setup and a 2.0L diesel. The turbo petrol motor can be had either with a 6-speead manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It delivers power worth 143bhp and 250Nm of torque. The diesel engine, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, pushes out 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. The hybrid powertrain comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox only.
