MG Hector Plus Interior, Key Features Revealed Ahead of Launch

MG Hector Plus, the three-row version of the 5-seater Hector, is ready to hit Indian roads in July, 2020. The latest teaser video confirms that the new SUV from MG will have captain seats in the middle row with slide and recline function and individual armrests. The brown leather upholstery will give it a premium feel and appeal. Initially, the Hector Plus will be offered with 6-seats layout only. Its 7-seater version will come later.

One of its key features is the ‘Leg Swipe’ boot opening. It allows user open the tailgate by waving a foot under the centre of the rear bumper. It has sensors producing an electric field that breaks when an object (your leg) comes in between. The disruption in the electric field sets off a search to find and verify the key fob.

MG’s new three-row SUV will be packed with several goodies include a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, MG’s connected car technology, leather wrapped steering wheel and drive armrest, a 360 degree camera, automatic climate control, ambient lighting and more.

MG Hector Plus Leg Swipe

The carmaker has confirmed that the MG Hector Plus will come in a choice of 6 colour schemes – Starry Sky Blue, Glaze Red, Burgundy Red, Starry Black, Candy White and Aurora Silver. Some of its interesting design elements are LED headlamps, chrome front grille, LED front and rear fog lamps, LED taillamps, LED DRLs, shark fin antenna, floating light turn indicators and dual tone machined alloy wheels. The Hector Plus will be made available with the 2.0-litre turbo diesel (170PS/350Nm), 1.5-litre turbo petrol (143PS/250Nm) and an in-house developed 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol (143PS/250Nm) engine option. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard, while a 6-speed DCT automatic transmission will be offered with petrol variant only.

MG Hector Plus Features

The MG Hector Plus will come in three variants – Super, Smart and Sharp – and is estimated to be priced over Rs 1 lakh premium over the Hector 5-seater. The latter one is currently available in the price range of Rs 12.73 lakh – Rs 17.72 lakh (ex-showroom). The three-row SUV from MG will be gun up straight against the Tata Gravitas that will see a release during this festive season. The higher trims of the Hector Plus will take head-to-head against the Toyota Innova Crysta.
