MG Motors has finally launched the much-anticipated MG Hector Plus in the Indian market. It is basically the 6-seater version of the regular Hector and is based on the global Baojun 530 SUV. The Hector Plus is the MG’s third offering in India. It targets mid-sized SUV buyers looking for 6/7-seat options.

The new Hector Plus is available in 3 trim levels – Super, Sharp and Smart. While the base diesel model is available at a price tag of Rs 14.44 lakh, the top-spec model costs Rs 18.54 lakh. The petrol version is available in the price bracket of Rs 13.49 lakh – Rs 18.21 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi and introductory.
2. Bigger than Hector 5-seater
In terms of proportions, the Hector Plus is 4,720mm in length, 1,835mm in width and 1,760mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,750mm. The company has increased the length of the SUV by 65mm to accommodate third row of seats. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 215/60 section tyres.
3. Six-Seater Only
MG Motors has launched the Hector Plus SUV as a 6-seater model. The company will launch the 7-seater version at a later stage. It comes with captain seats for the second row of seats and have 50:50 split ratio for the third row seats.
4. Engine Specs
The MG Hector Plus shares the engine mechanics with the 5-seater model. It is available with 3 engine options – a 143bhp, 1.5L turbocharged petrol, a 143bhp, 1.5L petrol with 48V mild-hybrid setup and a 170bhp, 2.0L turbo-diesel. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission) petrol only.
5. Handsfree tailgate

6. Design Changes
The overall profile of the MG Hector Plus looks largely identical to the standard model. However, MG Motors has made some changes to keep things fresh in the market. The SUV now gets cleaner design with all-new headlamps, updated bumper, new grille, new skid plates and revised rear tail-lamps.
7. Key Features
Except for the handsfree tailgate, the Hector Plus shares most of the features with the 5-seater Hector. It comes equipped with features like connected car technology, a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an Infinity sound system, a panoramic sunroof, powered seats, Remote sunroof open/close by i-Smart app, 7-inch coloured MID etc.
8. Competition
MG Motors has positioned the new Hector Plus against the popular Toyota Innova Crysta. The SUV will also rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Gravitas and the Hyundai Creta 7-Seater.
9. Safety Features
The new Hector Plus comes equipped with a wide range of safety and security features such as six airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), traction control, hill-hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring, a 360 degree camera, etc.
10. Six Exterior Colors
The new Hector Plus comes with all-new Starry Sky Blue color. Adding to it, the SUV is available in total of 6 color options including Starry Sky Blue, Burgundy Red, Candy White, Glaze Red, Starry Black and Aurora Silver.
