MG Hector, the maiden offering from the British carmaker, has completed one successful year in the Indian market. The premium SUV was launched in June last year and managed to gather over 50,000 bookings within 8 months of its arrival. Touted as India’s first ‘Internet Car’, the MG Hector comes with BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engine options. The engine setup includes a 1.5L turbo petrol making 143bhp and 250Nm, a 2.0L diesel delivering 170bhp and 350Nm and a 1.5L petrol with the 48V hybrid system. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. One must note that the diesel and petrol hybrid powertrain are available with the manual gearbox only.
Prices of the petrol models start from Rs 12.73 lakh for the base Style manual variant and go up to Rs 17.43 lakh for the fully-loaded Sharp automatic variant. The Hector is one of the most feature-loaded vehicles in its segment.
