MG Hector Achieves 10,000 Production Milestone In India

MG Motor India recently rolled out the 10,000 unit of the MG Hector from its plant at Halo in Gujarat. It’s been four months the SUV’s arrival in the market and it has crossed over 42,000 booking mark. Due to its high demand, the British carmaker had temporarily stopped taking pre-orders for the SUV.

Official bookings for the MG Hector were resumed on 29th September along with marginal price hike. With 10 days of resuming bookings, the carmaker bagged over 8000 orders. In order to ramp up the Hector’s production, the company will begin the second shift at the plant in November.

MG Hector Bookings Reopen

The British carmaker recently rolled out the first ever over-the-air (OTA) software update for the MG Hector’s infotainment system. Currently, prices of the SUV start from Rs 12.48 lakh for the entry-level variant, and go up to Rs 17.28 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

The MG Hector comes with four engine-gearbox combinations – a 141bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol with manual and DCT automatic transmission, a 168bhp, 2.0L diesel with a manual gearbox and a 1.5L turbo petrol-hybrid with a manual transmission. Read – MG Hector Facelift Revealed

MG Hector Details

The MG ZS electric SUV will be the next big launch from the British carmaker in India. The carmaker will also bring in the 6/7-seater version of the MG Hector early next year. The bigger Hector will make its India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.
